Goals are a must when it comes to a successful diet. You cannot simply say you will diet then hope for the best. Your body and mind have become accustomed to your existing habits. If you want to improve on these, you must set guidelines and goals for yourself. Not only do they provide something to work towards, they also act as a way to measure your progress. When you can see you have achieved your previous goals you will be more motivated to continue and be successful. Setting unrealistic goals can be just as bad as setting no goals, if not worse.
