Can Self Criticism Make Us Fat?

Many of us unfortunately can relate to this form of self criticism. For many of us having this frame of mind is often a major factor in our initial weight gain. Sadly it is also a contributory factor to us being unable to lose our excess weight. Our self criticism also extends to a demoralisation of everything we do, or are considering doing. Often when we embark on a new diet or exercise regime, we are pestered by this negative, disruptive criticism. In the back of our mind we are still convinced we will fail, are wasting our time, we will always be fat.
